Hastelloy was derived from Haynes Stellite Alloy, the first alloy to be purely based on nickel contributing to its characteristic properties.
In accordance to the composition they are briefly divided into different types with letters assigned to them based off their metal they are made of. Addition of even tougher elements like chromium and molybdenum adds to further strength of hastelloys making them strong contenders for use in extreme conditions like an industry, chemical plant,petroleum plant or nuclear plant. The different types of hastelloys in accordance to their elemental constituency are B-3, C-4, C-2000, C-22, C-26, G-30 and N hastelloy. All the different element combinations alter the nature of the hastelloys making them resistant to external factors, enriching their usefulness in places where more durability is required along with a longer work life.
